Toxicological information:

Acute oral LD 50 for rats =3150-4000 mg/kg

Biochemistry:

Fatty acid synthesis inhibition  in grasses, by inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase). Rapidly hydrolysed in plants to acid which is still herbicidally active.

Mode of action:

Selective herbicide with contact and syntemic action absorbed principally by leaves with translocation both acropetally and basipetally to the roots  or rhizomes.

Uses:

Post emergence herbicide which controls annual and perennial grass weeds in wheat and barley

 

Antidote:

It doesn’t have any specific antidote. In case of poisoning immediately see a doctor.
